Derek's New Zealand Blog 2012
Sunday 15th January
Morning rain produced a perfect double semicircular rainbow over Concord, Dunedin. Sunny morning with a threat of more rain.
Drove with Kay to Lookout point on 'Three Mile Hill Road'. I helped Kay look for a Geo-Cache at the lookout site, which Kay found with smiles all round. Good views of Taieri River Plain and Saddle Hill. Continued to Silverstream Valley Road and on to 'Flagstaff Whare Flat Road', both gravel roads all the way back to 'Three Mile Hill Road'. Driving gravel roads feels like you are in the north of Scotland rather than a few miles from a city centre. Short distance to 'Daiziel Road/ Mount Grand Road' for return journey to Concord.
Another drive around Dunedin in the late evening with Kay & Brent, to see the city under the stars. Good views from Challis on the Otago Peninsular.
