Thursday 5th January

The day for departure has arrived at last. Flight not until the evening so Ann and I have a leisurely drive from the Travelodege to Langley for another carvery meal at the Toby Inn, Langley. The place was quite full, Ann commented that it was full of OAPs, I reminded her that we were in that category too.

Drove to Heathrow Terminal 1 to catch flight NZ 038 to Hong Kong at 21:05pm. Final goodbye to Ann and England before she drove home about 3pm, catching some daylight and missing the worst of the traffic.

Checked in at the New Zealand Air desk and started looking for a 'Heathrow' or 'England' sign to take a photo of 'Flat Cody'. A little boy in the States has a challenge to have his cut out self portrait take round the world. Only found one reference to United Kingdom and that was the sign outside the 'Glorious Britain' store.
