Friday 6th January

Arrived at Hong Kong in poor weather conditions, very dull. I was hoping my window seat would give me some fine views over China, but didn't even see Hong Kong itself. 

Long wait for flight NZ 080 but time taken strolling around the huge modern airport terminal looking for a 'Hong Kong' or 'China' sign. Walked the entire length of the terminal, seemed like miles, before finding one small sign for a 'Flat Cody' photo.

Tried to get onto the free airport wireless network but I've since discovered that the British Telecom wireless management system was screwing me up. Thanks BT.

Flight to Auckland New Zealand very eventful. Crossed the Philippine's, with lights visible from the window seat, then again over Papa New Guinea, but also was local thunder storms below over the mountains. An amazing sight in the dark considering that it was clear directly below.
